Graphic novels

Bolton Central Library's Graphic novel reading circle will be meeting tomorrow (Saturday April 22nd) at 3.30 - 4.30pm. I aim to be there, having missed the first couple of meetings.

If graphic novels are your thing, give it a try.

I was there and it was great. A really enthusiastic, knowledgeable group and some frankly awesome biscuits.

I'll get a list of the books we discussed together and add them to Signpost.

I'm glad you enjoyed it Michael, I made the biscuits myself - in my dreams. Any suggestions for new Graphic Novels for me to buy for stock appreciated anytime. I've had a suggestion for Shaun of the Dead, we obviously missed it when the film first came out, but is a graphic novel of a zombie rom-com too niche market?

Those biscuits were particularly classy. They were also very popular on the day.

Shaun of the Dead is a very nice little book - unlike a lot of movie adaptations, it's been drawn really well. Usually, the artists put too much effort into making their characters look like the actors in the movie and they end up looking wrong, but SOTD is more stylised and edgy.

And it's pretty gosh-darned funny, as is the film itself. You've got red on you!
